S.O.S – Saving Troubled Projects

March 3, 2010

One of our subscribers, the always delightful Laurie B., recommended a delightful article about recovering troubled projects and suggested that it would be an excellent topic for this blog.  How very right she is!  Sometimes we are given projects that have gone south, so that we can “fix” them.  No easy feat.  There are some good guidelines to follow.  The article she recommended is particularly good.  I share it with you here: Saving Troubled Projects: Five Steps to Rapid Recovery You will need to sign in to download it.  Thanks Mrs. B.  We will be covering the topic again.

Thanks for the shout-out Ms. Mullin!!

One of my favorite quotes from the WhitePaper: “Assessing and working to recover troubled projects can be among the most difficult work a project manager ever has to perform.”

How true that is! However, having the skill and experience of saving troubled projects also makes you an invaluable PM!

Thank you for your support and for the topic. When we understand why projects go south and how to fix them, we are better equipped to keep them on course, which is far less painful and expensive.
