Are You Rewarding the Wrong Behavior?

Found a great project management parable.  I attached the link below.  Read the article and think about what behaviors you reward in your team and organization.

As I have written in a earlier post, Emergencies Should Not Be S.O.P., emergencies are not good for business.  We need to reward those on the team that keep the boat afloat and headed in the right direction.  When we reward behavior with approval, praise or recognition, we encourage more of the same.   Sometimes we need a hero, however, we can not operate for long in “superhero” mode.  It is not cost-effective.
