Project Risk Management Essentials

All projects involve risk. Learning and understanding basic Project Risk Management can lessen risk exposure, reduce costs and improve project outcomes. Aligned with the PMBOK, this course gives students an in-depth look at the process of identifying and applying risk management principles and techniques to projects This basic Project Risk Management course provides knowledge and hands-on experience to identify, measure and respond to risks in project development and implementation. Students will learn to quantify risks and create risk response strategies to deliver projects that meet stakeholder expectations. Emphasis is placed upon techniques that are widely applicable in project management environments. Prerequisite: Project Management Essentials.

Course Objectives:

•Understand and apply project risk management methodology.
•Understand Project Manager’s role in risk management.
•Learn to manage project risk effectively to successfully deliver projects that meet stakeholder needs and expectations.
•Identify and employ project risk management inputs, tools, processes and outputs to improve project performance.
•Apply best practices, industry standard techniques and customizable templates to plan risk management, identify risks, perform qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, plan risk responses and monitor and control risks.
